I am working on a presentation titled "The invisible workforce: How the 'quasifirm' tradition affects Hispanic construction workers' safety and communication." I am supposed to give this presentation early in December. Well, today I had the most amazing experience related to it. For months, Ashley and I have been calling construction companies of all sizes, from the big firm to the small contractor, looking for Hispanic workers, and they are always invisible or someone else's responsibility. This morning I called a contractor and after my two-minute pitch about the research project, I was expecting the usual replies of "We don't have any Hispanic workers" or "Let me call so and so and see what I can find." Instead, the guy said "Sure, I have lots of Hispanic workers. Do you wanna come today?" What?? Is this too good to be true? I will write about the testing session next Tuesday. Stay tuned for more info and details.

Today? And there's lots of participants? Wow...the gods are favouring you.
